Break the Math
Save hundreds of hours with bespoke AI workflows that automate low-level back office work in Finance, Compliance, and Operations.
What This Stage Solves
Growing the front office has always meant growing the back office. Every new member adds reconciliation lines, review files, and compliance narratives, and the only lever most credit unions have ever had is headcount.
This is the arithmetic the large banks broke by hiring engineering teams. A credit union cannot hire its way to the same place, which is why the work has to be built rather than staffed.
The work that is worth automating is rarely the work that sounds impressive. It is the recurring, low-judgment, high-volume task that a specific person does every week and could describe in two minutes.
Some of the Things You Get
Reconciliation automation
The recurring match-and-explain work in Finance, built as a workflow rather than a spreadsheet. The goal is not a model that guesses. It is a system that does the mechanical portion and surfaces only the exceptions that need a person.
Credit review analysis
Assembly and first-pass analysis of the review file, so the analyst starts from a drafted position rather than from a blank page and a stack of documents.
AML narrative tooling
Narrative drafting that produces output in the format the analyst already writes in and the regulator already expects. The analyst stays the author and the reviewer. The tool removes the part that is transcription rather than judgment.
How It Runs
- ·Intake from staff rather than from leadership. The people doing the work know which task eats the week, and that list rarely matches the list the executive team would have written.
- ·Built inside the Microsoft environment the credit union already pays for and already governs, rather than introducing a new platform with a new vendor review.
- ·Built alongside the team that will own it, so the handover is not an event. Everything shipped is something the credit union can run without the engineer who built it.
- ·Each workflow is scoped so it stands on its own. No initiative depends on a later one to deliver value.
BCU Financial, an Ontario credit union with roughly $1B in assets and about 95 staff, engaged The General Consulting Company for embedded AI engineering across Finance, Compliance, Wealth, and Operations.

Does this need access to our core?
No. The first version of every workflow runs outside the core and reads from exports your staff already produce. That means no vendor integration, no API negotiation with your core provider, and nothing that needs IT to open a door. Deeper integration is a later decision made once the AI workflow has proven itself.
How do you decide what to automate first with AI?
Staff and C-suite tell us. We run an intake where anyone can submit the repetitive work eating their week, then rank by hours recovered and how cleanly the task is defined. Reconciliation, credit review reports, and AML narratives tend to surface first because they are high-volume, rules-based, and owned by one person who is tired of doing them.
Does this mean reducing headcount?
No. The framing that holds up is task replacement, not job replacement. The point is that the back office stops scaling with the front office, so you can add members without adding proportional cost. What changes is what the existing team spends its week on. The GCC frees your staff for higher-order work.
